The Pink Book, 9th edition, provides physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and others with comprehensive information on vaccine-preventable diseases.

The resource, which contains also provides information on general recommendations on immunizations, immunization strategies for health care practices and providers, strategies to increase vaccination, revised recommendations, and vaccine safety.

Recommendations apply to Pertussis (licensure of Tdap and recommendations for its use), Meningococcal (licensure of conjugate vaccine and recommendations for its use) and Hepatitis A (universal recommendation for children 12-23 months and reduction of minimum age from 2 years to 12 months).

Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella are updated to acknowledge the licensure of MMRV.
